Georgina was born in Fort William Ontario (now Thunder Bay) on December 21, 1921, the youngest of two daughters of George and Barbara Duffus. After graduation, she worked at various office jobs until she moved (with her parents) to North Vancouver in 1953. She became the first female personnel manager in Simpson Sears' history when they opened their new state of the art Metrotown store in 1954. While at Sears, she met Howard Robinson, who had come to Burnaby as the controller to oversee the new store opening. Georgina Duffus soon became Georgina Robinson and the ensuing years brought the arrival of three sons. There were moves to Toronto and Ottawa, which were always followed by a return to the North Shore. After Howard retired, they moved to West Vancouver and travelled extensively. A lifelong, avid bridge player and green thumb, Georgina spent the last 41 years in the same home, right up until two weeks before her passing.
She was predeceased by her husband, Howard, her son, Norman, and her sister, Isabel. She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Inna) and Edward (Carol), as well as three grandchildren, Claire, Kathryn and William Robinson.
Cremation has taken place and a small family gathering will occur at a later date.
