“Our Everything”
Skyler Ray Benavidez, age 22, passed away September 23, 2010 in West Valley City. He was born November 6, 1987 in Salt Lake City to Joe and Kris Benavidez and Pearl Benavidez. Graduated from Taylorsville High School and Salt Lake Community College as a certified EMT.
Sky, we are so proud of you. You are the light of your father’s life.
Skyler had a smile that would light up a room, and he was a friend to you whether he knew you for a day, month or years. He loved to ride his bullet bike, go golfing with his Dad, draw to pass the time or spend it with his family. He was his grandmother Pearl’s pride and joy and life. Sky was admired by all and cared for by all. He loved working at Interstate Image with his Dad and friends and was happy to make Shop Supervisor and see his art all over the valley. “Ride Sky, Ride.” Please watch over us.
Skyler is survived by his father, Joe Benavidez (Kris) and grandmother/mom, Pearl Benavidez; siblings, Scott Kendall, Kami Kendall and Jeskya Hymas; Uncle Frank (Bobbie Jo) Brighton, Micah and Ezra Benavidez; also Aunt Rachelle Nate and kids, Benjamin, Brennan and Anna Benavidez and many more family, loved ones and friends. Also survived by grandmother, Flora Ortiz and girlfriend of many years, Sasha Tolbert. Preceded in death by grandfather, Jose Z. Benavidez, Little Grandma Eva and grandfather, Raymond Ortiz.
