Sandy was born in Modesto, CA on September 17, 1946, to Marlene Johnson and (Dereal) Kent Hatch. She attended Granger High School and then went on to Beauty School. She married the love of her life, (Irvin) Phillip “Phil” Ferguson, on April 10, 1967, in Elko, Nevada.
Sandy’s family was her greatest joy. She enjoyed camping with her family at Simpson Springs and Traveling with Phil. When their children were grown, she made Sunday dinners and holidays a special time for her family with good food and opportunities to create bonds and make memories. She always had a warm smile and a big hug for all.
Sandy is survived by her children, Devin (Nalani) of Santa Clara UT, Rick (Shelly) of South Jordan, Angel of Cottonwood Heights, and her step-son, Phil (Sharon) of Arizona, 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren,as well as her siblings, Lynn Steenbergen, Jackie Nielsen, Tisa (Mike) Briggs, Dave (Soroya) Head, Jim Head, Russ (Linda) Hatch, Karen Schmidt, Kathy (Steve) Millett, Mark (Nancy) Hatch, Kerrie Hatch Estrada, and Kim Hatch, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband Phil, parents Marlene Gribble and Kent Hatch,step-parents, Milton Head, John Gribble, and Shirley Hatch, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Kathy Head, brother-in-law, Alex Steenbergen, two grandchildren, Marissa Bryner and Austin Ferguson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening March 3rd from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and 10-10:45 am prior to the service on Saturday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Shelly and Rick Ferguson, and the Valeo Home Health and Hospice team for the love and care provided during the final chapter in her life.
