Samee’s Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Samantha Jo Baumgartner, affectionately known as Sam or Samee to her friends and family. She passed away on September 10, 2023 at just 29 years old. She brought immense joy and lightness into the lives of those around her and will be deeply missed.

Sam’s smile could fill a room. Her personality was like a million watt lightbulb. And those eyebrows. Sam was a fashionista, and had regular hair appointments in order to change up the color to suit her latest style.

Sam was born as the youngest middle child in a large blended family, and nearly an Irish twin to her younger brother, Brady, who was born just a year later. As toddlers, Samee and Brady were quite the pair and created those deep bonds that only close siblings have. Samee was a vibrant child who loved music and coordinating dance moves with her friends to Usher and other pop hits.

Samee was a true friend and took her fun with friends quite seriously. She easily and quickly formed friendships with all she encountered. She loved to go on outings, attend concerts, baseball games, share a meal (and shots of tequila).

Her love for her son, MJ, was so clear and so big. She made MJ her world; took him on lots of adventures to fall festivals, zoos, parks, rounds of golf, and to a million baseball games. Samee volunteered as the baseball team mom and supported and cheered him from the sidelines. As Samee often wrote, MJ is the apple of her eye, the love of her life.

The brightness Sam exuded on the outside was countered by an internal sadness. She survived much in her short life. She rose to the challenge to overcome her past and to break free from unhealthy and abusive relationships. Even though Samee endured much alone, we wish she didn’t feel like she had to. We want you all to know that there is always help out there, and that talking about things can help.

She is survived by her son, MJ Cisneros, her mother Lorey Zeman, brothers Brady Baumgartner, Jarren and Jay Stratton, and sister Janeen Stratton. Also by her father, Gene Baumgartner, and half siblings Kirk Baumgartner, Bridgette Jensen, Gene Baumgartner, Jr. Rocky Baumgartner, Camille Peterson, Miriam Baumgartner, Hyrum Baumgartner, Hannah Brizuela, Josh Baumgartner, Hunter Baumgartner, and Paige Baumgartner. As well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, a nephew, and adopted family. She was preceded in death by Brigham Baumgartner.

Visitation & Memorial Service on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Visitation from 11AM-11:45AM, Memorial Service 12PM at 5000 W. Pavant Ave 3725 South, West Valley City, UT 84120.
