Ruth Elaine Ball Urry

Mooresville, NC—Ruth Ball Urry peacefully passed away at her home in Mooresville, N.C. March 15, 2023. Born August 7,1947, to Guy W. Ball and Carrie E. Van Wyck in Salt Lake City, Utah. On November 24, 1967, she married her Soulmate Dennis W. Urry. They were Later sealed in the LDS Temple. (He

passed away January 8, 2016) They had 3 Children Barbara, Guy and Jay. Ruth had an incredible career with the University of Utah Marriott library in the Cataloging and Storage departments retiring after 36 years in 2009.

Ruth often said her best moments in life were spent with her Grandchildren. In 2012 she moved to Mooresville to be closer to her family and two youngest grandchildren. She came back to Utah often to spend holidays with her family. Ruth was an avid Auto Racing fan. On Saturday nights you could find her cheering on her family members at the racetrack. She attended many NASCAR races and was a very proud Utes Basketball and gymnastics fan. She was outgoing and had a contagious laugh. Ruth loved playing card games, especially her favorite game “Muggins” often laughing at your pain. She was ruthless. Ruth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survived by her children, Barbara Norman (Tracy) Mooresville N.C., Guy Urry (Amy) Idaho Falls ID. Jay Urry (Tandra) Taylorsville UT. 3 grandchildren Jessica Urry, Tyce Norman, Taylor Norman, 2 “Adopted” Grandchildren Taylor Stroud and Carlie Stroud.

Preceded in death by Husband Dennis, Parents, Twin grandsons Braden and Austin Urry, Sister Sandra Seibert, Aunts Mildred Morfier and Grace Ball.

The Funeral service will be held at the Valley View Memorial Park & Funeral Home in the Chapel, 4335 W. 4100 S. West Valley City, Utah on Saturday April 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with a graveside to follow. Internment at Valley View Memorial Park.
