Russell Kevin Humphreys

1963 ~ 2013

Russ was called home after bravely losing his personal battle to cancer peacefully while sleeping. He returned home to the awaiting embrace of our Lord and Savior.

Russ was born on October 7, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ken and Shirley Humphreys, Sr. He graduated from Grace M. Davis High in 1982 in Modesto, CA, and ITT Tech in 2006 in Murray, Utah. He married Martha Wilcox on October 10, 1998 in West Valley City, Utah. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Russ was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and “Papa”. Among his favorite activities were fishing, camping and being outdoors. He was very much a football fan, (Go Raiders). He loved life, family and his friends to the fullest. He was extremely giving to anyone who needed help. Russ believed that in everything and everyone there was some good to be found. Russell will be dearly missed. We all hope you found that, “Pot of Gold”.

Russ is survived by his loving wife, Martha Humphreys; children, Tony (Lisa) Lewis, Marna Wilcox, Wendy Wilcox and Craig Lewis; mother, Shirley Humphreys; brothers, Danny (Jaimie) Humphreys, Ken Humphreys, and Jim (Diane) Schooler; sister, Linda (Andy) Ross; 10 grandchildren; 11 nieces, 11 nephews, 14 great nieces, and 8 great nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Ken Humphreys Sr.; brother, Bob Humphreys, and grandparents, Russ and Ruby Secrest.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment: Jordan City Cemetery.
