Roy Craner Miller

1941 ~ 2012

Roy C. Miller, age 71, passed away at home on October 2, 2012 in West Valley City, Utah.

Roy was born July 23, 1941 in Kalamazoo, MI to Russell and Ruth Miller. He married Pamela Steele on November 23, 2002 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1960; and also graduated from Weber State with an Electronics Degree. He was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Roy worked at Gibson Guitars in his early years before moving to Utah. He worked at Sperry for several years prior to joining Litton/Northrop Grumman for 26+ years. Roy served in the Army’s Navy (Landing Craft) from 1963 to 1966 and also served a tour in Vietnam. He was always willing to help anyone in need, especially his family. He was a loving father, husband, brother and a devoted friend. Roy was always one to put others’ needs before his own. He thoroughly enjoyed serving as the Ward Home-Storage specialist. His hobbies included restoring old vehicles, gardening and working with his hands with his twin brother Rob on anything from finishing his basement to building a shed in the backyard.

Roy is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; daughters, Ginger and Michelle; son, Jeff; step-children, Alisha, Allyson and Travis; siblings, Ron (Linda), Paul (Nancy), twin brother, Rob (Lois), and a twin sister, Marilyn (Dave), and 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Ruth Miller, and a twin sister, Margaret.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 12:00 noon at the Hunter Village Ward, 3450 South 6400 West. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South; and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the Ward. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
