He was born on June 23, 1947 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to Albert Stelmach and Wanda Ziemba. He grew up in Providence, Rhode Island. Following his graduation, Bob joined the United States Navy. He was stationed in the Philippines, Pacific Beach, WA, and San Diego, CA. During his military service in the Philippines he met the love of his life Veronica Francisco. They were married on December 24, 1969, and were the proud parents of four children: Evelyn, Manny, Ann and John.
His military service taught him a variety of skills. While station in the Philippines, he was a Boy Scout Master and while stationed in Pacific Beach, Bob worked part time bar tending. Bob graduated as an LPN from Salt Lake Community College. During his career he served in various facilities throughout the Salt Lake Valley. He retired from the health care industry.
Bob loved the outdoors, often taking his family on camping and fishing adventures. In his spare time he loved to shop and cook. Family was his top priority, often hosting the Holiday get-together's and gathering the family as much as possible. Bob loved his dogs and had three faithful companions through the years, Jasmine, Daisy and Donnie.
Survived by his children: Evelyn Saxton; Manuel (Jeanette) Stelmach; Mary Ann (Dennis) Galvan; John (Jessica) Stelmach; grandchildren: Richard, Jennifer, Felicia, Manuel Jr., Jada, Jai, Dennis III, Demitri, Makala, Elliot, and Tayler; great-grandchildren: Britney, Melissa, Nathan, Austin, Madison, Justus, Damion, Dominic, Germain Jr., Geremiah , Melina, Maylee, Alex, and Elijah.
Preceded in death by his sweetheart Veronica, his parents, son-in-law Clarence Saxton and by his brother.
