Richard Alden "Dick" Wiley, 75, passed away 19 Oct 2011 in Salt lake City, with his family by his side. Dick was born in Lynndyl, Utah on August 30th 1936 to Rudgar Orthello Wiley and Sarah Ann Talbot Wiley. Dick was raised in Lynndyl and Springville, Utah, attending school in both, and graduating from Springville High School. He went to work and then enlisted in the US army, serving in Fort Carson, Colorado, and Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Upon completing his service he went to work for Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for 47 years making many friends. Dick was an avid bowler and excelled at this sport. He also enjoyed camping, hunting and vacationing with his family. He met Carol Ann Smith in Springville, they were married in Provo, Utah on November 16, 1963. Parents to 2 daughters LeAnn Solomon (Troy Solomon), and Kim (Matt) McQuiston and sons Richard C. Wiley (Teri Weimer), Steven (Sherrie) Wiley. He is survived by his wife, his children, 9 grandchildren, and 4 great grand children. Also survived by two brothers, Robert (Kaye) Wiley, and James (Betty) Wiley. Preceded in death by his Parents, his sister, Marilyn Louise (Cecil) Hall, and Carl D. Wiley. We would like to thank the staff and nurses at Legacy Village Care Center and IMC Hospital for the excellent care they provided.
Richard was cremated at his request. Memorial Services will be held for Richard on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Monday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
