Mary Elaine Mackay Smith

Mary Elaine Mackay Smith, our loving mother returned home to live with our Heavenly Father on evening of January 24, 2016. She is the daughter of her proud parents Delisle and Clothfield Mackay, born on April 14, 1933. Mary attended the LDS Business College where met her beloved husband Kendall Norris Smith. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on May 28, 1953. She is survived by her three children, Shanna Dammaschke (Gayle Perry), Bruce Smith (Carol), Janene Alvey (Scott), grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Mary Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, eldest daughter Deanna Fidler, and granddaughter Celeste Fidler. Mary was an inspiration to her family and friends. She believed in the concept of positive thinking and making the most out of life. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mary Elaine served in many church callings and she was an accomplished violinist in the Mormon Youth Symphony. She

enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, spending time with her family and pets. As a family, we like to express our appreciation to the Gunnison Home Health and Hospice Services for the care that they provided to our precious mother.

A viewing will be held in her honor on Friday, January 29, 2016 between 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley, Utah and prior to funeral services at 10:00 a.m. at the LDS Church. Funeral services will be held at the Taylorsville 9tth Ward, 2030 West Chateau Ave. (5225 South) on January 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Services are held at Valley View Memorial Park following the funeral services. www.valleyviewfuneral.com
