Mary Denise Diaz was born on July 18, 1951 to Miguel and Rayo Gonzales in Carbon County. Mary passed away on October 19, 2023 in Salt Lake City surrounded by her loved ones. Mary grew up in Carbon County with her parents and her siblings Rosie (Ben), Miguel, Dino, Richard (Bonnie deceased) / Rose), Helen (Pat), and David.
Mary was married to the love of her life, Johnny Angel Diaz on July 15, 1980. Together they raised 8 beautiful children, John Jr, Jody (Gina), Edna (Chad), Monica, Amos, Kristie, Angela (Daniel), and Johnae aka Son who made their lives complete with a total of 31 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Mary and Johnny had an unconditional love that stood the test of time. They enjoyed going for drives, visiting family, getting ice cream, shopping, and having family get-togethers. Mary enjoyed her meetings, talking with friends on zoom, and she loved everyone in her congregation. She loved spending time with her daughters, going shopping with them, and loved being with her grandkids.
We will always remember the selfless love and devotion that our dad gave our mom. Dad was her caregiver, best friend, and her Hunky Dunky. She was his Little Granny Goose.
Our mom was the heart of our family. She welcomed any newcomer with open arms and love. Everyone that met her loved her. The love she had for us was unwavering and full of hope. She never judged any mistakes that anyone made, she always told you it would be OK and gave you words of encouragement to move forward in life. We will always remember the way she made everyone feel special and welcomed them with open arms. If you ever had the opportunity to visit their home, she would always try to feed you and tell you her famous words of “I love you mi jito/jita!”
She will be dearly missed. We love you Mom and Grandma!
Family and friends of Mary are invited to attend the funeral services, which will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 6148 S 4590 W, Kearns Ut 84118.
