06.25.1939 – 10.21.2022
Marlene Ann Norcross, our beloved mom, grandma and friend passed away peacefully in her home on October 21, 2022 of natural causes. Marlene was born on June 25, 1939 and grew up on the Feulner family farm in Hunter, Utah. She was the youngest of 7 children. She graduated from Cyprus High School in 1957 and attended Utah State University. She worked in the civil service, was a substitute teacher and retired as a clerk from the Magna Post Office.
She touched so many lives and dedicated much of her time to public service in many roles. She was a 4-H and Cub Scout leader, served in the Stake Primary, Relief Society and Young Women’s presidencies in the LDS church. She served on the Magna Area Counsel and was awarded Citizen of the Year.
She was passionate about gardening, arranging flowers and taking photos of her trips and turning them into family calendars for all of us to enjoy. She was an accomplished piano and organ player and taught many of her grandchildren lessons. Mom had a competitive spirit and was a master at chess, scrabble and Chinese checkers and tough to beat. She loved supporting and attending her children and grandchildren’s sports competitions, dance recitals, and musical performances.
Marlene is survived by her children Michael Anderson, Michele Denkers, Steven Norcross, Margie Norcross, and Chuck Norcross Jr., her 3 siblings, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her late husband Charles Norcross.
The family would like to thank Visiting Angels and all of mom’s amazing neighbors for their love and support over the last several years during her cognitive decline.
