Marjean Michelle Milligan Thompson “Marheeni” was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 30th, 1950. She was the daughter of Donald and Jean Wilson Milligan. She passed away unexpectedly on May 11th, 2016 in her home.
Sweethearts since 9th grade, she married Philip Thompson “FiggyDo,” the love of her life on June 5th, 1971. Together they had a beautiful daughter, Angela, in March of 1973, the “love and light” of Marjean’s life. As a family, they shared many laughs and adventures in domestic and foreign travel.
Marjean was an enthusiast of life. Love permeated her existence because she loved everyone no matter who they were or where they came from. She had a big heart and would help anyone in need. She enjoyed gardening, maintaining her backyard pond, water aerobics, music, dancing, and the Oregon coast.
Just like her mother, she was the consummate hostess, champion of the underdog, and once met, she was never forgotten.
Marjean is survived by her loving husband, Philip Thompson, her adored daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jake Cordova, her best buddies, Patty and Steve, Nick and Amy Giles, as well as many friends around the world. She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Jean Milligan.
In lieu of flowers, please raise a glass to Marjean and make a generous donation to your favorite charity. A celebration of life will be held at the Thompson home in West Valley City on Saturday, May 21, 2016 between 5 and 9 PM. If you need the address, please contact Angela at 801-815-5551.
