Marian "Kim" Elizabeth Marchant King

Born April 11, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jay W. Marchant and Elizabeth (Beth) Bennett. Attended Granite High School, graduated from Granger High School where she served as Student Body Secretary. She had involvement as Days of ‘47 Queen 1962, Miss Tooele County, served an LDS Stake Mission, member of Utah Press Women, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Daughters of the American Revolution, and active member in the LDS church where she served in every organization.

Married to Wilfried Meyer in the Salt Lake Temple 1963. Four sons: Jon, Greg, Ryan and Chad Meyer. Later divorced. Married William L. King, Jr. 1985 in the Jordan River Temple. Two step-sons: David and Stephen King.

Marian had a talent to make things happen. Nothing made her happier than planning a trip to Disneyland or to the beach with her family. Any family event was special and a grand event. Her family was her treasure. She loved to dance, sing and frolic with her grandkids. Her weekend retreats with her two sisters were always the “best times” she looked forward to. She also traveled extensively around the United States each year with her beloved Bill, and together they explored the highways of this great nation; it was always a great adventure. Long-time employee of Zions Bank (30 years), where she enjoyed the association of numerous wonderful people and delightful friends.

Survived by husband Bill King; Sons: Jon (Shawna) Meyer – St. George, UT, Greg (Juliette) Meyer – Bountiful, UT, Ryan Meyer – West Valley City, UT, Chad (Lisa) Meyer – Lehi, UT, David King – Taylorsville, UT, Stephen (Liz) King – Salt Lake City, UT. Grandchildren: Jeremy, Derek, Austin, Abby, Amanda, Rachel, Gabe, Ali, Tanner, Josh, Britney, Rebecca, Aunika, Myla and Ethan. Great grandchildren: Sienna Rose and Jackson. Sisters: Kathie (Richard) Franklin – Las Vegas, NV, Lynette (Lee) Asey – Vernon, UT, Carol (Jim) Martin – West Valley City, UT.

Preceded in death by father Jay W. Marchant; mother Beth Bennett Marchant; aunt Marian Ellis; sisters Dixie Steffensen and Judy Marchant; brother Brent Marchant; uncle Clyde Bennett.

Funeral Services January 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Jordan North 4th Ward 4270 Falcon Street, West Valley City, Utah. Viewing 8:30-9:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Vernon, Utah.
