Lynda Lee Welch, our dear aunt, cousin, and friend, left this world peacefully on January 20, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. Lynn was born on September 2, 1941, the youngest child and only daughter of Henry and Viola Welch. Lynn's parents and two older brothers, Gilbert and Donn, preceded her in death. She is survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins, and her beloved dog Molly.
Lynn was a long-time resident of Sugarhouse and was one of the early graduates of Highland High School. Lynn served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from the University of Utah with degrees in art and architecture. She was also one of the first women to study at Yale University. Lynn was a respected teacher at Eisenhower Junior High, Woodland Hills School, and The Peterson Art Center. She was exuberant when her hands were covered in clay; she was a potter extraordinaire and master gardener. Lynn also loved cooking, fishing, her animals, her flowers and the “great outdoors” – especially the “High Uintahs.” Thank you, Lynn for sharing your best, real self with us. We love you!
