After graduation from high school she moved to Salt Lake City and lived with her sister, Myrle. She later attended cosmetology school and went to work for her cousin at Aquarius hair fashions, she worked there for 50 years. She had a huge following of ladies that were not only customers, but her dear friends. She spent many hours working on her ladies hair and visiting and talking about families and so forth. The cosmetology business took its toll on her health affecting her breathing and lungs.
