She was born on April 3, 1927 to Merle and Corene Seely Hansen, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1945. Lois married Glenn Rudolph Draper on April 19, 1947 in Union, Utah. Ten years later, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. The family lived in Kearns UT for many years. Most recently she was a resident at Legacy House of Taylorsville.
She was a nurse’s aid, and a long-time supervisor at the University of Utah Food Services. Lois loved reading, dancing, bowling and visiting her family. She enjoyed many camping trips with her family and also did a lot of family history research with her mother.
Services will be held Saturday April 14, 2018 at 11:00 am, at the LDS Church, 6500 South Dixie Drive, West Jordan UT with a viewing prior to services from 10:00 - 10:45 am.
She is survived by her eight children; Cheri Mauldin in Goldsboro NC, Kevin R. Draper (Susan) in Danville CA, Shauna Sutphin (Michael) in Rock Springs WY, Ilene Hancock (Bryan) in Alviso CA, Melanie Whitmore (Jim) in Burley ID, Scott R. Draper (Charie), in Kearns UT, Jeffry R. Draper (Rose) in West Valley City, UT, and John R. Draper (Ronna) in St. George UT, 29 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her younger brother Dean and younger sister Phyllis, as well as her husband Glenn.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association of Utah (donate by phone 1-800-272-3900) or Aspire Home Health and Hospice at 1020 West Atherton Drive, Taylorsville, UT 84123.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Aspire Hospice and to those who took such loving care of Lois at Legacy House of Taylorsville.
