Linda Mae (Cahoon) Leech, 83, passed away July 4th, 2024. Although we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in the fact that she no longer has to live a life unable to enjoy all of the things she loved to do. We know that she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as many family members and friends.
Linda was born May 28th, 1941, at LDS hospital in Salt Lake City, but grew up and spent her childhood in Oasis, Utah. Oasis and the nearby community of Delta were also home to her grandparents, parents, and siblings. Her rural childhood consisted of helping her dad with chores on their small farm and learning to bake with her mom. When she was in Junior High, she met Bev Vineyard, who would continue to be a best friend for life.
Delta was also where she would meet her first husband Norris, with whom she had her first daughter, April. Norris passed away in 1962 after only a few short years of marriage. Soon after, she moved to Milford, Utah and met Ward Leech. Ward and Linda married in 1963 and moved to Kearns, where she would spend the next 60 years. Together they had two children, Charlie and Helen. Ward passed away in 1993.
Linda was known for her unconditional love and kindness, which she gave freely to everyone she knew. She was also known for volunteering in her community. She loved gardening and being outdoors. Above all, she gave all her time and love to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. With them she created priceless memories engaged in things such as camping and family gatherings.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Roland ‘Short’ and Mae Cahoon; first husband Norris Bidgood; second husband Charles Ward Leech; brother Max Cahoon; and her granddaughter Jaimie Love.
She is survived by her three children: April Mitchell (Larry Saunders) of Mesquite, Nevada; Charles (Angela) Leech of Kaysville, Utah; and Helen (Eric) Love of Grand Forks, North Dakota. Linda also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Amber Mitchell, Daniel Mitchell, Angie Mitchell, Clint Leech, Michael Leech, Amanda Love (Kevin) Engberson, Eric (Terlynn) Love, Eric (Renee) Saunders, along with 11 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sisters Dian Risenhoover (Aurora, Colorado); Susan (Mike) Smith (Sierra Vista, Arizona); and Nila (John) Anzures (Midvale, Utah).
A graveside service and celebration-of-life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday July 18th at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W 4100 S West Valley City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that the funds should be donated to Fisher House Foundation. Most importantly, Linda requested:
“No Black! It is a party - I am going home! So bring on the party hats. I hope all will wear Bright colors to my graveside service. I have no more pain - no more tears. I will join Jesus, be with my Dad, my Mom, and Jaimie.
Most of all remember I Love you All! Be Happy and Love each other!”
