Lana was born October 20, 1948 in Price, Utah to Ralph Bracken and Norma Bracken (née Stokes) and grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School in 1967. Lana was a ferocious worker for her entire life. Since the age of 15, Lana epitomized a strong work ethic and dedication to her colleagues. Lana cherished her friendships and made them easily throughout her life. When you were loved by Lana, you knew it. She loved making phone calls and sending cards. She could always be counted on to provide a strong shoulder or a listening ear.
Lana spent so much of her time as “Sister” or “Aunt.” Her love and dedication to her family was unmatched! Only her dear siblings and many special nieces and nephews can really tell you how rare and priceless their bonds are. After attending Salt Lake Community College and Southern Utah University, Lana served a mission in the Spain, Barcelona mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints from 1984-85. Returning home, Lana enjoyed a lifetime of service to her faith, often being called to care for the youngest members of her congregation – a passion for children that remained present for her entire life. Lana was a true example of faith and Christ-like love.
Lana married Wallace “Wally” Ralph Siple on January 27, 1990, and became an instant mother to her three step-children. She could not brag enough on their accomplishments and her personal pride for her children. Lana was also the proud grandmother of five grandchildren. These most recent years have been rambunctious as she has kept up with their growing spirits. Her passion was playing board games with her grand kids. Lana was the true matriarch of the family who wiped every tear, kissed every hurt, and furnished constant and unconditional love. Their hearts collectively hurt for the loss of their precious “Gramma Lana.” Her passing is Heaven’s great blessing, and our greatest loss.
Lana is survived by her heartbroken husband Wally, her brother LaVell (Mary Jane) Bracken, sister Dorine (Dean) Ralph, children Noah (Joy) Siple, Aubrey Robb, Jordan (Lauren) Siple, and grandchildren Emma, Seth, Landon, Samantha and Connor.
