LaMar Quarnberg, age 90, died peacefully at his home in West Valley City, Utah November 24, 2014. Born November 23, 1924 to Charles Edmund Quarnberg and Anne Myrtle Strange in Leamington, Utah. LaMar grew up in Leamington, Scipio, and Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School. He honorably served as an anti-aircraft gunner during WWII. He married Mavis Joy Smuin on November 16, 1946. LaMar retired from Utah Power & Light Company as the Operations Superintendent. LaMar is survived by children Larry (Star) Quarnberg, David (Cassie) Quarnberg, Alan (Leni) Quarnberg, Rebecca Quarnberg, and Charlotte Quarnberg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Joy (who he missed desperately); parents; siblings Deon, June, Max, and Ralph; and granddaughter, Kari.
Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2014, at 11:00 at the Jordan North 4th Ward, 4270 S. 4145 W (Falcon St), West Valley City with a viewing at 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the services. A viewing will also be held Sunday evening, November 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the same location. Interment will be at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W. 4100 S.
