Joyce was born on August 22, 1934, in Nephi, UT to James Lamont and Ada Allred Sperry. She graduated from Juab High and then attended Utah Technical College, earning a nursing degree. She loved working as a nurse and continued in that field until her failing eyesight would not allow her to carry on.
Joyce was an avid reader. Although she had lost most of her eyesight, she didn’t allow that to hinder her love of a good story. She also loved music and when she wasn’t listening to a book, she had on music. She was a wonderful knitter and crocheter and spent many hours making beautiful gifts for family members. Joyce was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved spending time with her family, especially her best friend and twin sister Janice. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sisters: Donna Madsen, Anita Young and Janice Budshun
Children: Lynn Cleland, Paula (Richard) Delsigne, Steven (Tina) Marcus, Sandra (Jay) Elliott, John Marcus, 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Lamont and Ada Sperry; siblings: Elwood, Byron, and Gordon Sperry; and brother-in-law’s: Dale Madsen, Ray Young & Adelbert (Bud) Budshun
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service from 10:00-10:45.
