Joanne Carol Howard

Joanne Howard, affectionately known as "Grandma Jo," passed away on December 30, 2024. She was born on February 25, 1944, in Sherman, New York. She married Roger Howard and together they had six kids.

She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always did what she could to care for the ones she loved when they were in need, no matter what. She enjoyed doing crafts, such as knitting, plastic canvas, beadwork and more. Her family will always adore the gifts she knitted for them. Reading, word puzzles and old TV shows were her favorite ways to pass time. Her all-time favorite musician and actor was Elvis; his music and movies brought a light to her eyes. She also cherished every minute spent with her loved ones, especially the babies.

Grandma Jo is preceded in death by her former husband Roger, parents Earl and Ethel Comstock, sister Evelyn Sweatman, younger brother Philip, daughter-in-law Trish Howard, and grandson Skyler Howard. She leaves behind her six children, Dale (Karyl), Tammy (Ian MacDuff), Jayson (Tammy), Charity, Daniel (Loretta), and Crissy (Jimy Starshadow), as well as many grandkids and great grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Valley View Memorial 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Services will follow at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
