I worked with Jessie for many years at the Airport.  He was always willing and helpful whenever needed.  I am certain this loss is being shared by many.  My condolences.

Joan: I was sorry to read about JC. I would have liked to come to the Funeral or viewing.  But my daughter that lives in Logan is adding on to her house.  And I have been working up there just about every week since the first of the year. Mostly I'm only home on the weekends. I never met the man.  But from what I have read you made the right choice. Jesse will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his many friends at the airport.  It was such a pleasure working with him.  He was truly a good man and I send my deepest condolences to the family.  May you find peace in remembering happy times together.

Dear Carlile Family I have had the opportunity in knowing JC at the airport as an employee for 25 years though we didn't work in the same department seldom would a month pass by that we didn't see each other through the concourses. I know several airport employees still working and retired had respect and admiration for JC. May the Blessing of comfort from the Lord be yours.

Dear Carlile Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad and difficult time. As I have thought about JC over the last few days, since learning of his passing, I'm reminded how blessed I have been to grow with him as a cousin my very own age. I love JC and his siblings - they have always been and still are so very kind to me.

Joan, you and JC were the perfect couple.  Every time I was around you I could feel how happy and in love you were.  Blessings and love to you and your family.

Joan and family,
You know how much I will miss J.C.  He was a great brother and friend.  I enjoyed talking to him, being around him, and could always consult him on any project. I admired his abilities, intellect, memory, and work ethic.  I knew that he could do almost anything, and do it extremely well, with cars, yards, and houses, etc. I, like Valden and the others, have really appreciated the way he helped the folks out with their problems, decisions, and move from the farm. He made it a "labor of love" to fix up their house in Heber.  He took time and used the materials to do the best possible job.  He has been one great son and brother and husband, father, and grandfather. May our Father-in-Heaven bless and comfort you and all of us in our sorrow and loneliness at his passing. These are the times that we can really feel the need for a brother and feel the love of that other One who sacrificed and died for us that we may live and be with our families again. I will give you a copy of some of the other things that I have thought about and written about J.C.

I am sorry to hear about Jesse's passing.  I knew him for his entire career at the Airport.  He helped me out whenever I asked, and made suggestions to help get things rolling. He was always friendly.  He will be missed.

If everyone could have a big brother like J.C., the world would be a very different place. I am fortunate to have had one of the best.  Being 15 years his junior, I’ve only known and seen him as an adult. He has done a lot for me over the years.  He was there at my side during some tough times. He was there for happier times also. . When we added on to our house he was there. When Megan got married he was there for the whole day, helping decorate. Last year at this time he spent the whole week helping with siding. His skills at carpentry and mechanics were a cut above all others. Whether helping you or doing his own project, there was a level of ”Perfectionism” and attention to detail.
 My brother was no respecter of persons, he could get along with all types, adult, child, religious, non religious, professional, or novice. He could meet them on their level. He was a man of his word and full of integrity. You knew where he stood and you stood. Once he borrowed a neighbor’s tractor and it broke while he was using it, but it went back fully repaired. If he borrowed something from me, it always came back in better shape and promptly. He stepped in when my father was sick, took time off from his own job, and ran the dairy farm without a glitch. He had to make some hard decisions on behalf of our parents. They trusted his knowledge and business savvy.
Some of the things I have observed while living in the same ward and neighborhood for 25+ years now: I’ve seen him complement young and old on a particular accomplishment. I’ve witnessed him speak to the parents of a young family and tell them how well behaved they were in church meetings. When he saw something admirable in others he commented on it. There are many kind words and deeds that few if any will know about.
All being said, this is part of J.C.’s heritage. He learned well from Grandparents and Parents. He had the love and support of a good wife, Joan.  The legacy lives on in his children and grandchildren.
 
My brother,  You have lived a great life. You have a great family. Thanks for being my brother.

   JC was a great man who gave so much of himself and asked for nothing in return.  A loving man whos entire life was that of giving service to all.  He was the example of always being 'on the Lords errands,' by putting his family and friends first in his life. May the Lord bless your family with comfort, faith and hope during this difficult time.

What a great man! We're so sad to see him leave but so grateful for the chance to know and love him while he was here. It has been a blessing to grow up with Uncle JC & Aunt Joan so close - both have been wonderful examples! Both have amazed me with their quiet acts of love & service and their sweet testimonies. 
The family, the ward, the street, the world will not be the same without JC...he will be greatly missed!

I have only known JC for a year and a half but in that time he has taught and shown me so many things.  He was the first of many to make me feel so welcome to the area. He is and will always be there with his big smile and helping hands to help others.  I can hear him now telling me what to do with that twinkle in his eye and his laugh.  I will miss him a lot but I will be better for knowing him and I will feel him prompting me along my way.

Dear Joan and family,
How proud I was to call JC my brother, not just brother in law.  That is what he was.  Losing him has been as difficult as losing my own brother nearly 25 years ago.  He was just part of our life, no matter what the situation going on.  He cared about us and loved our family.  I remember plugging the garbage disposal and Valden was out of town, I panicked and called JC...he came and unplugged the banana peels I had tried to dispose of.  He kindly let me know that you can't put banana peels down the drain.  Im sure he wanted to shake me, but he didn't.  So many times we called on him and he didn't hesitate to come.  So many times he just showed up, when he knew we wouldn't call for help.  I admired the strong man he was, not just physical...but sprititual as well.  He was the one everyone looked to for strength and counsel.  What a wise man.  I will miss him dearly .  Joan, we love you and are here for you...as you have been for us for so long.  We pray the sweet memories of JC will carry each of you through in the days, months and years ahead when you miss him so much.  I am grateful to know he is part of our Eternal Family, he is stuck with me!  Thank you for sharing JC and your family with me and making me part of the Carlile family.

A better person, friend, and neighbor cannot be found.  His wisdom and skills were achieved from his childhood living in a remote part of Utah.  His generosity and kindness are a result of his family life, both before and after marriage. Truly the person you enjoy having as a close friend. We know this lifetime is but a short flash in the eternal plan and are looking forward to meeting JC again.

Joan and Family: Our thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of grief. I remember the good times we had when JC stayed with us while he went to school. I remember us making enough sandwiches for the next month for our lunches, putting them in the freezer only to find out that each day by lunch time the moisture made then soggy.
