Jaylyn Eaton Thomas

Jaylyn ”JJ” Eaton Thomas, 66, passed away on August 8, 2023 in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on June 12, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jay Eaton and Carole Delaney. She graduated from Granger High School and later married Wilson James Thomas in October of 1976, and later divorced.

JJ loved spending time with her family. She was a seamstress by trade and did many sewing projects in her free time. There wasn’t a Christmas that went by when her kids and grandkids didn’t receive homemade pajamas. JJ was an avid NASCAR fan. She enjoyed watching her family member’s race cars. JJ also loved collecting garden gnomes.

JJ is survived by her children, Jamie (Jonathan) Bessey, Jason Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Teri Eaton (Jonathan Ortiz); siblings, James (LaNae) Eaton, Nanette (Kelly) Kiesel, Tracey (Mailynn) Eaton; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Carole Eaton; sister, Nancy Richardson; grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South in West Valley City, Utah, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.

Family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
