She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on June 1, 1932, to Clarence Joseph Reich and Violet Irene Grayston. She was sealed to Allen E. Lang in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1955, until his passing on August 31, 1998. She later married Floyd Ryther on October 2, 2001. Irene was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held one calling for over 50 years as ward organist and served as the stake organist for many years as well. Irene worked in her home for many years teaching numerous students to play the organ and piano. Irene loved being with her family and friends. Many special memories were made at the cabin. Irene enjoyed using her creative talents to paint and to do craft projects. One of Irene’s greatest talents was creating cards for her family and friends. Each card was carefully and thoughtfully created and accompanied by just the right words of comfort, encouragement and congratulations. Irene not only offered the right words through her cards, she verbally expressed her love for all of her family and friends. Irene was always there for her family offering unwavering love and support. Her warm smile and gentle hugs will be missed by all.
Irene is survived by her husband, Floyd Ryther; and four children, Christi (John) Parry, Brian (Karen) Lang, Dennis(ViAnn) Lang, Rex(Deneene) Lang; also survived by Allen’s family, Dick Salt, Raymond (Georgia) Lang, Delbert Lang; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren; Floyd’s children, Allan(Paige) Ryther, Brad (Carolynn) Ryther, Kent (Robyn) Ryther, Stephen (Mykalanne) Ryther, and Brent (Christi) Ryther; 16 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Allen E. Lang; grandson, Victor Ryther; sisters in law, Donna Salt and Inge Lang.
A viewing will be held at the Valley View Memorial, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2017, and from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017. Her funeral services will be held at Valley View Memorial from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery, West Valley City.
