Harold Gene Schmidt

The one and only “Dubby” left this earth to be with his wife, Maxine Lucille Rigby Schmidt. To once again hold her hand for eternity.

For as much as he had, he always gave more. The son, brother, uncle and father to more than his own. He would pull your leg whether you knew it or not. While hunting, fishing, or doing his own thing, you would find yourself happier than you felt before you talked. Had he pursued school, he would have been a hell of a lawyer!

Preceded in death by his wife Maxine; his parents, his siblings, Jack, Butch, Marge, Betty and Judy; his daughter, Louise; 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Survived by his siblings, George, Tom and Marilyn; his children, Sylvia (David), Helen (Steve), Wes (Vania), Jack (Lisa), Otto, Judy (Todd), Becky and Sam (Amy); 25 grandkids and 12 ½ great grandkids.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. Friends will be received by the family Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park
