Harley Donald Moore was born July 23, 1953 in Swissvale, Pennsylvania to Wilbert M. Moore and Genevieve Kelly. He married Katherine Maltby in 1975 in West Valley City, Utah and together they had 2 sons. Katherine passed away on March 3, 1999. He later married Terre Wimmer in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 14, 2009 and gained 3 additional children.
Harley graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in Pennsylvania. Following graduation, he joined the Navy and proudly served his country for 4 years. During the Vietnam War he served on the USS Hector.
He retired as a Supervisor from Kennecott after more than 35 years as a dedicated employee. Harley was a member of the Granger F.O.E. for over 35 years. Through these associations he made many life-long friends and was known as the “King of the One-Liners.” He loved golf. He and Terre were members of the Sunday Drivers for almost 10 years. He was a proud dad and grandpa. He often coached baseball for his boys and loved being involved in his kid’s lives. He was an adventurous man, enjoying hunting, fishing, and many outdoor activities. Harley was an avid Steelers fan.

Survived by his Wife Terre; Children: Sean Moore, Chris (Colleen) Moore, Rhonda (Ross) Taylor, Preston Elmer, Cassandra Elmer; Brother: Mick (Karen) Moore; Sister: Gloria Steel; 10 Grandchildren, and 1 Great-grandchild: Summer, Hope, Crystal, Cambree, Caysee, Evelyn, Allison, Lily, Dillon, Catalina and Dartagnan.
A viewing will take place Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing prior from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the same location. Per Harley’s request, please dress casual.
Interment will be at Valley View Memorial Park with Military Honors Accorded.
