Gilbert Montoya went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2025 at the age of 84. He was a loving husband and father, a dedicated Christian and a proud US Army veteran. Gilbert loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart. He was an amazing godly example to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Facundo Montoya and Domitilia Garcia, and his brothers Ralph, Marcy and Pedro Montoya, and his great grandson AJ.
He was survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Loretta Montoya, his dear son, Phillip, daughter-in-law, Joan, and daughter Veronica (Montoya). He was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren Melissa Montoya, Amber (Montoya), Marlena (Carr) and David (Carr). He was a caring great-grandfather to Eva, Alexis, Hope, Paytann, Daniell and Lucas. He also left his grand-dog Riley.
There will be a viewing and service to pay our respect for Gilbert at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, Utah. The viewing is on Friday, February 7th at 5-8pm. The funeral service is on Saturday, February 8th at 1-3pm.
