

What a glorious reunion there must have been when Gary returned to his heavenly home! Gary, age 75, passed away from illnesses incident to age, on February 21, 2018, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and his dear friends Ronnie and Larry Tate.
Gary was born on July 21, 1942 to William Bud Cox and Mildred Louise Johnson, in Provo, Utah.
Gary was a true disciple of Christ and loved his Heavenly Father. He loved his family with all his heart and put them first in all he did.
He served valiantly in four branches of the military. In 1962, he joined the United States Air Force as an A1C Reservist, being stationed in Michigan, Germany, France and England. He was honorably discharged in 1967. He then joined the United States Navy in 1973 as a Naval Seabee and was honorably discharged in 1977. Later that same year, he joined the United States Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged in 1980. His final years of service were completed in the Utah Army National Guard as a Sergeant First Class, from 1980 until 1990. He was also a civil servant at the Tooele Army Depot for 23 years.
Gary loved to draw, hunt, go camping, go four wheeling and watch old western movies. He also loved walking through classic car shows and taking long car rides through the mountains.
Gary married Nancy L. Lonas in 1962, where they had their son, Robert. They divorced in 1964.
He then married Susan L. Hoover in 1968, where they had four children: Tracey, Stephanie, Amie and Gary A. They divorced in 1981.
He then met the love of his life, Linda, and married in 1984. They were blessed with one daughter, Alisha.
Gary is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda P. Cox, his children: Tracey (Bill) Reynolds of Cascade, MT, Stephanie Dockery of Salt Lake City, UT, Amie (Jim) Crawford of West Jordan, UT, Gary A. Cox of Las Vegas, NV, and Alisha (Jason) Patin of Midvale, UT. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, his brother, Donald W. (Wanda) Cox, and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, his parents, his son Robert Brent Cox Mills, sister, Beverly Jean Dudley, Sister-In-Law, M. Lynnette Bunnell Cox, Son-In-Law, Eddie Dockery, and his favorite Aunt Maurine and Uncle Kenny Parsons.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, in Bluffdale, Utah. Full military honors to be given by the United States Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, Gary would love it if you donated to your local veteran’s community or Primary Children's Hospital.
