Earl Lee Smith Jr.

1961 ~ 2013

Earl Lee Smith Jr. was born on March 5, 1961 in San Bernardino, California to Earl Lee Smith Sr. and Margaret Maxine Smith. Earl was the youngest of 4 children. At an early age he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Macedonia Baptist Church in Pomona, California.

In his educational years he attended Hamilton Elementary (Pomona, CA), DeAnza Middle School (Ontario, CA), Chaffey High (Ontario, CA), and graduated from Montclair High (Montclair, CA) in 1979. From his childhood until he was a young man, Earl accelerated in football, basketball and baseball. Earl had a number of talents which included, rapping and even had the honor of being on “The Gong Show”. He was also employed at Ocean Pacific (Chino, CA) and Marriott-Ontario Airport (Ontario, CA).

In 1992 he relocated to Magna, Utah where he married Liza Arnold, and they were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Earl went on to work for Salt Lake Valley GMC, West Valley Suzuki and the Magna Recreational Center. Earl was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Maxine Smith; his brother, Leroy Jolivet, and his son, Darius Joseph Smith. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his father, Earl Lee Smith Sr.; 2 sisters, Druann White and Burta Lynn Smith Board; 4 children, Autumn Maxine Yvonne Smith, Desmond Jordan Smith of Taylorsville, Utah, Earl Lee Smith III of Salt Lake City, Utah and Kiosha Nicole Smith of Riverside, California; 5 grandchildren, Harlem, Desirae, Kaelee, Auli and Davion; 2 step-children, Ava Lily Nunn and Dominic Smith; daughter-in-law, Rachel Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
