Douglas Blair Anderson

May 18, 1964 – June 1, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend,

Douglas Blair Anderson- just 60 years young.

Doug was a man who had a love for the great outdoors and Dallas Cowboys football. It was evident to all who knew him. He spent countless hours over the years in the mountains pursuing his favorite pastimes with his brothers, nephews, and others and at least the same amount of time (or more) cheering on his favorite team. Whether it was in pursuit of the perfect buck, the biggest catch of the day, or rubbing it in when his team won, Doug always cherished the time he spent with those he held dear.

His senior fishing partners, David, Daniel, and Craig (now passed) were not just brothers but were his best friends. They shared a bond that went beyond just their love of fishing; they were a support system for each other, and they made memories that will last a lifetime. Every fishing trip was filled with laughter, stories, and the joy of doing what they loved.

In addition to his senior partners, Doug also had two junior fishing partners who were the apple of his eye: his nephews Eric and Aaron. Doug took great pride in teaching them the art of fishing and passing on the knowledge that had been handed down to him by his own father. He valued the outings they shared, knowing that he was instilling in them a love and respect for the outdoors that would last a lifetime.

Doug’s love for hunting was equally strong, and he always looked forward to deer season when he could roam the mountains with his brothers, cousins and friends. The camaraderie and sense of adventure that these hunting trips provided were irreplaceable.

Doug's legacy will live on in the stories and memories shared by those who were fortunate enough to share in his love for hunting, fishing and football. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on forever in the places he loved most. Gone but never forgotten, Doug will always be remembered as a man who cherished every moment spent in the company of his loved ones.

Doug is survived by his siblings David, Tracy and Daniel, his nephews Eric (Tina) and Aaron (Sarah), niece Sara, and many great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Joanne and Dale, and his brother Craig.

A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at a later date.

Hey Doug: “How ‘bout them Cowboys?
