Dennis O Johnson, age 79, passed away on December 1, 2019 at home in West Valley City, Utah, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on February 2. 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Albert O and Irene Hannah Johnson. He graduated from South High School and served in the Utah National Guard. Dennis married Jeanne Woolston on November 18th, 1960 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple.
Dennis enjoyed deer hunting, camping, working with the Boy Scouts, reading and volunteering with his community and the LDS church. As part of serving his community, Dennis was an avid donor of lifesaving plasma and platelets. Dennis was well known for identifying opportunities of need and being the first to volunteer, he loved people and was quick to add a kind remark or a bad dad joke.
Dennis worked for Rick Warner Tire World for 25 years and eventually retired from Harmons Grocery Stores after serving 20 years. When Dennis was asked how he was doing he would always respond by saying, “Fantastic”.
During the toughest of times, Dennis never complained. His positive attitude, unfailing sense of humor, and unconditional love will be sorely missed.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne Woolston Johnson, Daughters, Heidi Johnson, Tammy Cornelison (Jeff) and Kim Barker. Also survived by, Elaine McMullin (sister), Eugene Johnson (brother) Albert Johnson (brother) Merlin Weidauer (brother) 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held, Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah.
