“Lil David”
Our beloved Lil David passed away unexpectedly Tuesday April 25,2023, at his home in West Valley City. He was born March 8, 1993, to David and Natalie Salinas, in Murray, Utah. He was the oldest of 4 children. Siblings; Aubrey(96), Nicholas(98), and Jessica(99). He was also the oldest grandchild on both sides of his family. Everybody loved and doted on him as a child. David became a father to the beautiful Sage AnnMarie on June 16,2016. The relationship with Sage’s mother did not last and there was some physical distance between him and his little girl. She was ever present on his mind and he spoke of her often. David was an uncle to his brother’s two rambunctious boys; Jackson and Sammy. David loved the boys very much, and spending time with them. He was always there to lend a hand in caring for them.
David was a kind, sensitive person, he was always thinking of others. He was in search of himself, and becoming his full potential self. He had his own struggles with alcoholism and spent the last 2 years trying to conquer it. He went to treatment at First Step House, where he made many friends, and impacted so many lives. He was inspirational and helped so many others who were also struggling with addiction. It saddens me that he never knew how much he impacted other peoples lives. Many have said that they would not have made it through treatment if it wasn’t for David and his friendship.
David was a fun loving person and made everyone laugh. It wasn’t unusual to see him in a TikTok video just playing around without a care in the world. David’s main goal in life was to be able to care for his grandparents, Guy and DeAnn Nielsen, and his mother. David loved his family and they were most important to him.
The times that David was the happiest and laughed the most, were times spent with Eddie. They were in a relationship that blossomed from a friendship. Their relationship was based on honesty and love in the purest form. David loved Eddie and had no problem saying it.
We are all gonna miss David and his infectious laugh, with his crazy, lazy eye. There is an emptiness in our hearts that will never be filled. Too many things cut short, and his full potential self was never completely realized. It is , our loss. So many memories, so little time. We love you David, you’ll be missed but never forgotten. See you on the other side.
He is proceeded in death by his uncle Joshua Wells.
Survived by: his parents; David and Natalie Salinas; grandparents, Guy and DeAnn Nielsen, and Elizabeth Langton; siblings, Aubrey, Nicholas, and Jessica; Uncle Brad Nielsen; daughter Sage; nephews Jackson and Sammy; special boyfriend Eddie Jolly; several cousins and extended family
