Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, David Roy Niskala, passed away at home in Magna, Utah on January 12, 2018 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born to Roy Gordon Niskala and Jane Ann Lawrence in Salt Lake City, Utah on September 30, 1961. He graduated from Granite High School in 1979 and continued his education through an apprenticeship as a master electrician at SLCC. He married Brenda Kay Mortensen, August 8, 1992 in Salt Lake City, Utah, taking her daughter in as his own. From this union they had two more children. They enjoyed square dancing together for 5 years. David worked in the printing industry for 38 years, starting as a press operator and becoming a production manager, inspiring others through his work ethic and willingness to help and teach others. In his free time he enjoyed collecting various rocks, crystals and coins, going shooting in the desert with his family, going on adventures and causing mischief.
David is survived by wife Brenda and children Jennica M Niskala (Ryan Taylor), Kaysha J (Gabriel) Munoz and Taygen R Niskala, four grandkids and his sisters Dorothy A (Kevin) McGuire and Arlene K (Mike) Gallo and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Roy G and Jane A Niskala and grandparents Melbourne G and Edna M Lawrence and George E and Mary M Niskala.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Jordan Valley Cancer Center and Applegate Hospice for everything they have done for us.
There will be an evening visitation Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services to be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. with a visitation for the hour prior. All services will be held at Valley View Mortuary, 4335 W 4100 S, West Valley City, Utah.
