Darwin Neal Oveson

1930 ~ 2012

Darwin Neal Oveson, age 82, passed away February 16, 2012 in West Valley City, Utah.

Darwin was born January 19, 1930 in Salt Lake City to Thomas Wayne Oveson and Clara Eva Hansen. He graduated from West High School and the L.D.S. Business College. He married Wynona Ward on March 7, 1953 in Cleveland, Utah. He was sealed to his Sweetheart in the Salt Lake Temple on June 3, 1964. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved attending his grandkids activities, he served diligently in his many Church callings. Darwin was a loving husband, father, proud grandfather and great grandfather.

Darwin is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Wynona; children, Tom (Nancy), Rick (Sandy Yowell), Neal (Mary Lynne), Dale (Robyn), Sherry Kesler (Ross), Ed (Teresa), Kelly (Lisa) and Brian (Lindsey); 27 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and granddaughter, Leah.

Funeral Services for Darwin will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Copperhills 1st Ward Chapel, 6000 West 4150 South. The family will receive friends at a visitation Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the Ward. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
