Colleen Leah Ryser, 87, passed away December 14, 2019 in West Jordan, Utah. She was born September 7, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Adolph Frank and Leah Olga Struhs. She attended East High School. She married Ronald Melvin Ryser on July 29, 1949 in Salt Lake City. Colleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Colleen’s first, unconditional love was always for her family! Jesus was her hero! She was selfless in prayer. She always prayed for family and others before herself. Colleen’s passion was to cook for others. Every time you walked in the door, whether it was the sugar wafer the younger kids waited on, Easter goodies, Halloween candy, or a cake she had made, it was very hard to tell her no. She also remembered the many birthdays for all of her family. On Father’s Day and Mother’s Day she would give her grown children cards as well! She would say, “You are a father/mother.” She loved annual family reunions.
Colleen is survived by her husband Ronald Melvin Ryser; Children: Dave (Marla) Ryser, Jim (Glenda) Ryser, Ron (Shirley) Ryser, Becky (Duane Swaysey) Ryser, and Cary Ryser; Grandchildren: 20; Great Grandchildren: 31; Great-great Grandchildren: 14.
Preceded in death by her parents Adolph Frank and Leah Olga Struhs; Daughters: Susie Ryser and Judy Ryser.
