Cindy was born on August 12, 1958 in East Carbon, Utah to Richard Rouse and Leslie Jean Carter Davies, and passed away at the age of 65 on October 17, 2023 in Murray, UT surrounded by family and her closest friends.

Cindy married Larry Branton on April 14, 1984 and they raised their family in Salt Lake City, UT. She was the mother to Ryan and Lindsay as well as Bonus Mom to all of their friends, Grandma "Owl" to Oakley, sister to Paul Davies and aunt and cousin to many others. Grandma "Owl" and Oakley were inseparable: they would shop, cook, cuddle, decorate for holidays and read together nightly. Cindy adored holding the throne of being "Grandma Owl."

Cindy was a spitfire who was thirsty for knowledge and eager for a good debate. She was often found with her nose in a good book or striking up a conversation with a friend about current events. Cindy was a shop-a-holic! She was proud to brag about all of the good deals and sales she would find on her journeys up and down every aisle.

Cindy attended Kearns High School where she graduated in 1976. She then studied at the University of Utah where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1981, as well as received her Paralegal certificate from Westminster College in 1990. She spent her most recent years as a para-educator, where her passion for helping kids learn to read oozed from her very being. Books were her first love, and her legacy is stamped into the core memory of many kids who attended both Academy Park Elementary and Hillsdale Elementary.

Cindy is survived by her husband Larry Branton; daughter Lindsay Branton; and granddaughter Oakley Branton. She is preceded in death by her son Ryan Branton; mother Leslie Davies (Edward); father Richard Rouse; and grandmother Moneta Carter.

Services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m at Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home 4335 W 4100 S West Valley City, UT 84120. There will be a viewing Friday, October 27, 2023 from 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m as well as before her services on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 1:00 p.m-2:00 p.m.
