It’s with a heavy heart that I write this obituary for my beloved youngest son, who tragically lost his life in an automobile accident during a severe snowstorm. He left behind his precious 5-year-old daughter, Onyx, who was the light of his life. He was a wonderful father who loved his daughter more than anything. His love and devotion to her was undeniable. Anyone who knew him could see the special bond he shared with his little girl. Besides being a father, he was also a great person with a vibrant personality. His sense of humor and infectious laughter would light up any room. He had a way of making everyone around him feel loved and at ease. He was a best friend to everyone. He loved to sing and dance. He even had the opportunity to audition for American Idol. Chaz gave in death as he gave in life. He was an organ donor and through his donation he was able to help others. His presence will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Onyx Rose and her mother, Haven Hansen; his mother, Becky VanDetta; brothers, Brian (Andra), Tyrone (Kari), Skyler (Shantel), Zachary, Jeffery, Jacob; sisters, Tonya (Dereck), Candice; grandmother, Sharon Bona and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Lynn Homer; grandmother, Amelia Homer; grandfathers, Ted Lallathin and Ardene Bona.
Rest in peace my dear son. Your beautiful daughter will always carry your love with her. To honor Chaz’s life, we will be holding a celebration in his memory, on an undetermined date to be announced in April.
