Betty June Kendall Parker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully holding the hands of those she loved at the age of 86, on the evening of February 1, 2018 in Venice, Florida. She was born June 28, 1931 in Murray, Utah to David Donella Kendall and Ruby Lazenby. She married Douglas B. Parker on February 21, 1975 in Salt Lake City and was later sealed to him in the Jordan River Temple. She shared 32 years with her loving husband before his passing in 2007. She is the mother of four sons, three daughters, and many more that she considered her own.
Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a great love for many things. Her greatest love was spending time with her family, attending church and going to the temple. She also loved doing genealogy, listening to music, art, crocheting and writing poetry. she loved her animals, going to the beach, watching and feeding the birds.
Mom was best known for being a prankster and she always had a great comeback. She enjoyed cooking and was known for her homemade bread and scones. In mom’s earlier years she sang and played in a band and later in life she taught herself how to play the organ.
While her passing leaves us with a heavy heart, we will never forget the love she showed everyone that surrounded her, she always brought joy to everybody who knew her.
She is survived by her loving children, Michael Boone, Kathy (Mike) Bailey, Boyd (Judy) Garrick, John (Kae) Garrick, Bonnie Campbell, Shelly (Heinz) Kopp, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas B. Parker. Parents, David Donella Kendall and Ruby Lazenby. Son, Raymond A. Garrick. Siblings, Lela Larkin, Boyd Kendall and Milburn Kendall.
Funeral services will be held at Valley View Memorial Park Located at 4335 West 4100 South West Valley City, Utah 84120, A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A viewing will also be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 1:00-1:45 PM prior to service at 2:00 PM.
