Berit was an excellent seamstress and made many of her own clothes and clothes for her family. She was also accomplished at embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, and crocheting. She knew how to fix things (like blow dryers) and how to make do with what was available. She could take someone else’s castoffs and fix them or make them over to fit her needs. She remained a faithful member of the Church through many hardships, and she served in many capacities over the years, including Junior Sunday School coordinator, Relief Society presidency counselor, chorister, and temple worker at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple.
