Ashlee was a strong, beautiful, and incredibly giving young woman, who overcame so many challenges throughout her life. To say that she fought hard, and loved even harder, was an understatement. Her love for those around her was only outdone by her love for animals, and she would do anything to care for them. Her fur baby Goldie is a testament to that love. Ashlee scooped up Goldie as a 5-week-old rescue, the runt of the litter, and said “She’s perfect”. That’s the kind of person Ashlee was. A pure heart of gold.
Ashlee was the life of the party and spread laughter wherever she went. She loved to argue and was often “the first fan” of many of the things she loved, even things older than she was. In fact, Ashlee was the world’s biggest (and first) fan of the show Friends, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, sea turtles, Coca-Cola, sour candy, Top Gun, NASCAR, country music, VGK Hockey, coloring, romance novels, the Hallmark Channel, hiking, star gazing, cooking, and playing her violin.
Ashlee chose to fight every single day, taking her life back from her ailments, and lighting up the world with her spirit in the process. Ashlee will continue to live on as our best guardian angel.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, auntie, dog mom, and friend. The hole she leaves behind in her absence is tremendous and can only be filled by the beautiful memories she left behind.
Ashlee is survived by her father Michael Tunney, mother Heather Brown (Bill Brown), fur daughter Goldie, sister Amber Bohanon (Steven Bohanon), brother Shawn Tunney, brother Ian Tunney, brother Ryan Ortega, best friend/sister Hillary Hansen, and numerous close friends and extended family members.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents Catherine & Robert Tunney, uncle Edward Tunney, Grandmother Hazel Brown, and her fur babies Scooter, Copper, and Camo.
