Arika Mishel Simper passed away March 5, 2011 at the young age of 22.
She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 26, 1989 to Ron Simper and Anita Ashmead. Arika was ambitious, creative and smart, ready to tackle the world in her own fashion. She graduated from Hunter High a year early. She attended S.L.C. Community College briefly, but had recently gone back to college to pursue a Nursing Degree. She loved going on long bike rides with her “Little Dude” in tow; baking, cooking and making her favorite dessert, tiramisu. She could light up the room with her warm and caring personality, and her beautiful smile which everyone will remember and miss. She was employed at State Farm and had been for several years. She is survived by her loving parents, Ron Simper and Pauline Muggli, Lon and Anita Ashmead; siblings, Brandy Hemstreet, Matthew Simper, Jerid Ashmead, Tiffany Taft and Nicole Simper, and her son, the light of her life, Anthon Congrove.
At this time we would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Valley Hospital for their care and support of Arika and her family and friends.
The family will receive friends at a visitation that will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South. In lieu of flowers an account has been set up at America First in the name of Arika Simper if anyone would like to donate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.valleyviewfuneral.com.
