Al was born December 11, 1938 in Salt Lake City, UT to Alfred Louis Rainville-Hamelin and Nellie Zitelle Mortensen, the elder brother to sister, Rosalind Hamelin. Al is survived by his eternal companion of 61 years, Edith Ann Garrett Hamelin; daughter-in-law Teri Lynn Hamelin, ID; sons Kenneth (Tisha) Hamelin, UT; Duane Hamelin, Texas; Jason (Kyrsten) Hamelin, ID; Eldon (Tiffany) Hamelin, UT; Jonathan (Jennifer) Hamelin, UT; daughter Joanie (Kevin) Riehle, UT; and his sister, Roz (Larry)Loudon, UT.
He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Douglas Hamelin; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Libby) Hamelin; granddaughter, Brynley Hamelin and grandson, Christopher Hamelin.
Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Valley View Ward, 4322 S 5400 W West Valley City, UT 84120. Viewing Friday, August 25, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM with burial following at Valley View Mortuary, 4335 W 4100 S West Valley City, UT 84120.
