Gloria J. Smail

Gloria passed away at ECMC Hospital in Buffalo, a fitting end given her long career serving ECMC as a nurse. She was predeceased by her husband Larry T. Smail and her sister Julie May. She leaves behind 4 sons and their wives Mark (Nancy), Craig (Mary Ann), Michael (Jennifer) and David (Sherilyn). She also leaves 9 grandchildren – Sam Sedita, Rachel, Brandon, Connor, Alyssa, Braeden, Hannah, Shaelee, and Thomas Smail. She has 1 great-grandson Sebastian Sedita, and a second on the way due in December who she would have loved to meet.

Gloria was born & raised in Buffalo. She worked as a nurse at ECMC for 35 years where she was well-respected and rose to the level of Assistant Director of Nursing . Gloria spent most of her retirement years living in Sun City Center, Florida where she had many friends and lived with her sister Julie until she passed away. For more than 15 years Gloria taught water aerobics at Kings Point in Sun City Center where she was a favorite instructor, and she spent many years as Association President for her condo group. Together Gloria, Julie and their friends enjoyed traveling the world and especially going on cruises.
