Long time business owner of Flattery’s Sports Bar in West Seneca, NY for 43 years and the president of GSPCO Contracting. George attended Nichols and West Seneca East High Schools. He was a standout football player for West Seneca East, class of ’73. He continued playing football at Taft, Ferrum and San Diego State. In 1979, he returned to West Seneca to help establish the family business, Flattery’s Sports Bar, 1130 Orchard Park Rd. He courageously fought choroid melanoma for 11 years, never complaining. George was known to be a compassionate friend, who often placed others needs before his own, eldest of nine children and remained a dedicated support for his siblings. He enjoyed traveling to South Carolina and summers at Lime Lake, NY. He was renowned as an expert craftsman in brick, stone, tile and concrete work exhibited in many community buildings. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of 43 years Cathleen A. Seebald and Brittany Spaniel Murphy; brother of Coleen, Kathleen, Maureen, Jean, Kevin, Daniel and Seebald in-laws; along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Jean Sullivan-Flattery and George Raymond Flattery, Jr. and brothers Shawn and Patrick. A Memorial Service will be held in the future at the convenience of the family.
