Dorothy Kloc, a cherished pillar of the West Seneca, NY community and a pioneering businesswoman, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, at the age of 94. Born Dorothy Pacyon on September 14, 1929, she lived a life marked by determination, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to her family and business.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Stanley Kloc, and six siblings, Dorothy's legacy continues through her devoted son, Joseph Kloc (Karen Kloc), her adored grandchildren, Conrad Kloc (Kristen Kloc and son Warren Kloc), Jillian (Kloc) Stephens (Milo Stephens and children Kestrel and Leif Stephens), and Austin Kloc, as well as her sister, Anne Powers. Her memory is also treasured by many nieces and nephews, who experienced her kindness and generosity.
Dorothy and Stanley co-founded Kloc's Grove in 1955, a venture that blossomed into a beloved local institution. Their entrepreneurial spirit and dedication laid a strong foundation for the business, which was successfully run by their son Joseph until its recent sale. Dorothy's business acumen and vibrant presence left an indelible mark on the community.
Away from work, Dorothy had a zest for life and enjoyed gambling, often bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her adventurous spirit and warm heart made her a delightful companion and a cherished friend to many.
Her family and friends will forever remember Dorothy for her resilience, her nurturing nature, and her infectious smile. Her life was a testament to the power of hard work, love, and family.
The wake will be held on Thursday November 30, 4-8 PM, and a celebration of Dorothy's life will take place Friday December 1 at 11 AM at Hoy Funeral Home, 3855 Seneca St., West Seneca. The family welcomes all who knew and loved her to join in honoring her remarkable journey. Dorothy's memory will continue to inspire and guide us all.
