He was born on December 17, 1958 in Olney to Harold Gene and Betty (Johnson) Lynch.
Jim was an adventurous soul, having lived on a working cattle ranch in Montana to working in the oil fields of Texas. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his Harley.
On August 14, 1993, Jim married the love of his life, his soul mate; Sylvia Isaac Lynch.
Together they shared two sons: Larry (Ethel) Isaac of Calhoun, IL and Douglas (Michelle) Isaac of Mt. Carmel, IL and two awesome grandsons: Reece and Evan Isaac . Jim also loved his grand dog Harley and his cats: Snowball, Suggy and Smokey. Jim also loved a special son, Travis Hering and special friends, Jeff and Tonya Hardy and Gary and Melinda Slunder.
Jim will also be missed by his mother, Betty Lynch of Olney, IL, his brother, Thomas (Kathy) Lynch of Clay City, IL. and his sister, Kathy (Bill) Sawyer of Fort Worth, TX.
Jim served in the military from 1977-1981 in Rota, Spain and state side in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Gene Lynch.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10AM on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at the First Christian Church of West Salem, IL. Burial will follow at the Moravian Cemetery, with a motorcycle escort, as well as “The Final Ride”, a motorcycle-drawn hearse. Jim will be honored with military rites at the graveside.
A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 from 6PM to 8PM.
Memorial donations may be given to “The Last Ride” or to Hospice of Southeastern Illinois. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
Jim loved casual clothes and to honor his memory, everyone is encouraged to wear casual clothes and be comfortable.
