Barbara "Bobby" Orel

Bobby was born on January 8, 1935 in Olney, IL to Geneva (Burton) and Wayne Orel.

She worked for her father at Wayne’s Grocery in West Salem and also at the Stop and Shop Grocery Store; which later became McDowell’s Grocery.

Bobby loved being a homemaker, tending to her plants, she enjoyed friends who stopped in to visit, southern gospel music and her favorite singer, Elvis; with whom she shared a birthdate.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Shannon Orel.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Tonya) Orel of West Salem, two nephews: Dakota Orel of Flora, IL and Dillon Orel of West Salem, one niece, Holly Orel (Wade) Prather of Flora, IL, and several cousins.

Funeral service for Barbara Jean “Bobby” Orel will be at 2PM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Ingram Funeral Home in West Salem.

Visitation will be held from 1PM to service time at the funeral home.

The body will be cremated with a private burial of cremains at a later date.

Due to the burial at a later date, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the West Salem Senior Center.
