Thomas Joseph Edward Desser

Thomas J. Desser, (Tommy Joe) age 94, passed peacefully to Eternal Life on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Tom lived in West Palm Beach, Florida as well as Oklahoma and Michigan. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Toenjes) Desser, with whom he celebrated 72 years of marriage. He had a large, loving family consisting of 17 children and 72 grand and great grandchildren. Tom was born in Detroit, MI, to Walter and Gertrude (Diamond) Desser. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he worked for General Motors in Flint, Grand Rapids, and Oklahoma City for over 40 years. He loved God Almighty, his family, and his Country. He cherished his friends and neighbors. He considers Life’s greatest mystery, the fact that his Creator loves him. Tom and his family would like to thank the Lourdes Noreen McKeen community as well as Trustbridge Hospice and Potter Nursing Service for their loving care.

A Memorial Mass will be offered for Tom in the near future. Tom will be buried in St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Cemetery, located in Flushing, MI, where his family farmed for many years.
