Susan Lee, aged 73, died peacefully on April 6, 2015 in Palm Beach, Florida, after a brief struggle with cancer. Susan was born November 20, 1941 in New York, the daughter of Julian and Rae Nelkin. Susan attended Great Neck North Senior High School, before attending Boston University. After working as a school teacher and raising two children, Susan subsequently attended Adelphi University, where she received her Masters of Social Work. She then attended the Sex Therapist Certification Program at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. She maintained a private practice before embarking on a path which would ultimately lead her to her life's passion. Susan was the Founder and Director of the Florida Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute, the Sex Therapy Postgraduate Institute of New York and the Medical Sex Therapy Institute.Through her leadership, she provided continuing education and supervision towards sex therapist certification for the past twenty years. She conducted numerous educational seminars and workshops for mental health professionals and physicians throughout the United States. Additionally, Susan taught sex therapy education in China, India and Jamaica. Susan was a long time resident of Palm Beach, Florida, where she was very active in the local community. Susan is survived by her sons, David Swartz of Los Angeles, CA and Jonathan Swartz of Berkley, California; two brothers, Henry Nelkin and Alan Nelkin; four grandchildren, Arielle, Kylie, Maya and Shaina; and a number of other relatives and close friends. Susan's life will be celebrated at a memorial service to be held at noon on Thursday, April 9 at IJ Morris Funeral Chapel at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Road, West Palm Beach, FL 33412.
